After a week and a half of waiting, I finally got the news that I got a new, permanent job. I am a little stunned, as I had given it up for lost, but very happy. I went to Mass full of thankfulness this evening, and the flowers for Pentecost were so beautiful, like fire in the vases. I was so glad to be there.
I saw a friend afterwards, who came into the church with me this year, and I saw he was quite down, so I went over to him. He has been having a really tough time at work with some pretty unpleasant people, and asked me to pray for him. He was, however, thrilled at my news. We shared in each other’s news with equal amounts of joy and commiseration, praying and praising together as we sat in the church with Jesus. It was just such a perfect way to exist on Pentecost, as church family.
