Omitted, in violation of the rubrics. Probably to save time for the cobbled-together “ceremony” for the graduating high school seniors (“Baccalaureate Mass”). I was so disappointed.

Here the Pentecost Sequence was sung. However we used the hymn Come Holy Spirit, On Us Shine was sung.

I attended the Saturday Vigil Mass. A version was sung by the congregation, a different translation than the set text, sung to the tune of “Ode to Joy.”

Sounds like a typical parish church! 🙂

I know it’s not funny, but sometimes all you can do is chuckle.

Last year my pastor even asked me to have the Corpus Christi Sequence sung in Spanish.
That was hard to find. Found the text, but had to write the music for it.
They are so lucky to have you there; composing is really going the extra mile.🙂
The sequence was sung at my O.F. Mass by our pianist. It was beautiful.

This year I didn’t make it to mass due to severe fatigue. 😦

Years past it’s been chanted/sung. I believe at another parish I’ve heard it recited.

Did you attend the vigil on Saturday evening or mass on Sunday? It is not part of the vigil.
Thanks for that info (and sorry I missed your question).

No, this was Sunday at 10:30 AM.

At my parish, it was chanted since there is no music in Vietnamese written for Veni, Sancte Spiritus. (I attend a Vietnamese-speaking parish.)
