Was the day of Pentecost when the Catholic Church began? Also, why don’t we baptize in the name of Jesus like Acts 2:38 where it says to baptize in the name of Jesus? I know Mathew 28 says go forth and baptize in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He is wondering if the popes preached Acts 2:38. I need some well learned people to help me.

When we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we **are **baptizing in the name of Jesus. He is God, the Second Person of the Trinity. The Father and the Spirit are One with Him.

Yes, we celebrate Pentecost as the “birthday of the Church.”

Who is he? Please try to respond to the same original thread you had created a half an hour earlier, rather than creating a new thread on the same subject. That way, people can kinda follow better what you are saying.

Name ther means authority or totality of character. Jesus’s authority and character is the same as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
