You can’t be serious???
Could it be some other fidgety noise?

no, never saw anyone clipping their nails—but it makes sense, if one person does it—other people that are bored will pick up the bad habit

YES! AND SUCKING THEIR TEETH. DON’T YOU WONDER, IF THEIR NAILS ARE SO BAD THAT THEY HAVE TO CLIP IN CHURCH, HOW DID THEY BRING THEMSELVES TO LEAVE HOME WITH THEM THAT WAY?

Don’t know…I get the feeling you really hate it…😃

Nothing surprises me anymore at mass. The trick is to focus on Christ and his presence. I’m sure you do that already. Sometimes I want to stand up and scream, “If you’d really rather be somewhere else, GO!” But, of course, I wouldn’t do that. I find the challenge to look for Christ in every fidgety face.

Wow. and I thought the 47,284 coughs I heard this past Sunday morning were annoying.

would you like it if someone was combing their hair or putting on makeup in church? how about at Adoration? i am not angry, so much as confused. for one thing, there are bathrooms to do those things if you do wait to take care of them at church.

I don’t clip my nails in church; I bite them. Especially, during the homilies on hell and purgatory.

I don’t think I’ve hear nailclipping yet but the rustling of candy wrappers bothers me. I’ve heard that a lot, as well as constant fidgeting for papers in one’s purse–that’s one that drives me to distraction! The one that completely takes the cake for me, though, is a cell phone ringing during Mass. Grrrrr…at the beginning of every Mass at my parish everyone is reminded, everytime, to turn off their cell phones, but there has not been a Mass I have attended there when at least one has not gone off. It is *so *disrespectful…

If nothing else, it reinforces the observation from these boards that all too many Catholics have very bad manners and can’t control themselves even during mass.

No, I have never seen that at Mass & I hope I never do! My daughter works for an Optometrist and she says that she’s seen a few patients clipping their nails on the floor in their waiting room! Yuk! I don’t know what posesses people to do some things in public. Years ago I used to pass someone on a regular basis on my way to work and she was brushing her teeth WHILE DRIVING! Oy Vey!

Once someone’s phone rang during the homily. Without missing a beat, the priest deadpans “If it’s not Jesus, tell them you’ll have to call them back.”

Not trying to judge, but would you do that in someone’s house? If not then why in God’s house of all places?
