To clarify, Vico, I think when GIRM 275 uses the word “names” before “of Jesus”, it does not mean “any of the names of Jesus”, but rather “any of the following names: Jesus, Mary, or the Saint being celebrated.”

Every devout and reverent gesture did come from the original mass.
Novus Ordo has only been around since '62 and not suddenly at that. The “old mass” was the standard up until '62 and even up until a year or two later when Novus Ordo took center stage (so to speak).
Not only did every deout and and reverent gesture come from olden time but more and more reverent devout gestures and prayers are coming back.
We pray the Sanctus, Agnus Dei, Anima Christi and the Sancte Michael Archangele all in Latin.
Catholics are looking for the things that distinguish us as catholics. In prayer and gesture. The internal as well as the overt.

The last one should definitely be said in Latin. No one seems to know the exact wording of St. Michael prayer in English and it comes out completely garbled.

You’re right that every devout and reverent gesture comes to us from believers who came before us, which points to the fact that there is no “old” Church or “new” Church. There is only one Church, an ancient Church, ever renewed by the grace of God.

I used to go to Mass at this parish (built in 1953; used for the sacrament of matrimony in the photo). The communion rails around the sanctuary were not removed as it was used until the middle of the last decade. People would gather around the rails and kneel, and wait for the priest (as he goes around) to give them communion. The manner of receiving was COTT as the rails and the kneeling position makes it impossible for CITH.
Since the sanctuary is at the middle of the church, it’s funny that you can have a feel of the TLM if you’re at the side facing the back of the priest.

Yes, God forbid that someone pray in their mother tongue, get the words wrong and then have the prayer negated due to lack of form.
Honestly, I would like to give God enough credit that He can decipher our hopes and desires even if we mangle a word or two of a prayer. This* all Latin, all the time* attitude is one of the strangest things I have encountered on this board.
