Hello Everyone,

I was wondering what the general perception and feeling is of Eastern and Western Catholics towards the Orders of Chivalry that exist in the Holy Land today (i.e. Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Order of St. Constantine, (name removed by moderator), etc) ? Are they perceived by the locals as something beneficial to the communities or are there other perceptions?

Thanks in advance for being candid, yet respectful. 🍿

Dear friend. I am not able to answer this question but I have opinion of one such order - German warrior-monks Livonian Order - in 1242 fought against Rusian force under St. Aleksandr Hevskij. Altksandr defeated such warrior-knights on famous Ice battle on Chudov lake. Have you ever seen Eisenstein film - Aleksandr Hevskij - about this battle!! Was very IMPORTANT in history of Rus’ this battle and defeat of these German warrior-monks. But now 700 years later, probably they are not a threat to Holy Rus’, so I guess I don’t know what they are like now! But in 1242 - was a terrible battle! and Nevskij saves Rus’!!!
