You are confusing ‘perfect contrition’ with ‘spiritual perfection.’ Both contain the word “perfect” but they are not the same thing. No, perfect contrition means one is has no attachment to any sin.
*Contrition *means sorrow for our sins (which may be motivated by sincere regret for offending God, and/or fear of God’s just punishments).
*Perfection *is the complete detachment from all sin. Spiritual perfection is possible on earth - various Catholic Saints have been named Doctors of the Church for teaching this (St. Theresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, St. Thérèse of Lisieux). A person who has achieved spiritual perfection has no need of contrition (either perfect or imperfect) because this person has no attachment to sin, and thus has no sins to be sorry (contrite) for.
