Peri-menopause sucks

I thought of some more. Having to tie a sweatshirt around your waist in the 7th grade and hope nobody notices before you get home sucks. Having other kids talk about why you aren’t getting in the pool at camp sucks. Also, post-natal pee sneezes suck.
Wait, you’re not supposed to swim???

I can’t say I’ve ever followed that rule. 😊

Tampons aren’t recommended for children (or at least they didn’t used to be because of TSS) and the camp I went to never had them.

I’ve always been under the impression that menstrual flow ceases when in the water (because of water pressure.) No “feminine protection” required (though maybe a good idea if you’re getting in and out frequently.)

I remember perimenopause and how terrible it was. I don’t want to scare you, but mine started in my late 30’s and didn’t end until I was 55. I was always anemic, I had fibroid tumors. I was a single Mom and couldn’t have a hysterectomy because there was no one to help me take care of my son while I recuperated. I had hormonal migraines the last 4-5 years. It was horrible. I prayed and prayed for it to stop.
Finally it did. However, postmenopause hasn’t been that great either. I thought I would have a lot of energy since I would not be anemic anymore, but that has not been the case. Loss of energy and depression!
Hang in there!

:)😃 raising 3 teenager children alone during peri-menopause !!
Prayers all round 👍

I can tell you from personal experience that is not always the case…

I just wrote a whole lot more and then erased it.

Just take my word for it.

I agree!

My OB-Gyn said she’d rather have her period for the rest of her life than go through what her patients are going through.

Any sympathy I had for your griefs is rapidly evaporating.
You have to remember the number one rule of entering menopause threads. The participants are likely to ovary act. :crying:

That, and it lasts too long. I suppose it is the hair shirt you didn’t choose for yourself. There has to be a merit in there, somewhere, but it is hard to see at the time.
My husband is going to grow in patience whether he wants to or not!

That’s merit.

That would have so not worked with me. 😊

Peri-menopause sucks, as does menopause.

This is not what the old ladies who have been all the way through it say, though. They remember hot flashes and crying at long distance commercials, but they don’t want their periods back.

Get on a plane for a few hours and come back online to awesome replies.

Thanks ladies!
