Period or Pregnancy?

My girl friend and I fooled around on the 24th and her usual period is around the 30th. On the 27th-28th she had the normal stomach bloating she gets on her period but than on the 29th she told me the bloating went away? Can this happen on periods and the period continues on? Or is this a sign shes pregnant?

I feel extremely stupid but we both let temptation come over us. Is it wrong that I have been praying to the Lord since the 24th “My Lord and My God, a child is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to your children on earth but right now is not the time for me and her, please do not let there be anything growing inside of her, I do not want her to go through all the pain and suffering she’ll receive from her family and friends.” I have also been in a form of penance ever since. Every day I have begged my Patron Saints, Mother Mary and Alponsa of India to ask the Lord to hear my cry. The simple truth is that we’re way to young to be doing any of this and we both promised each other we wont be doing anything of the sort anymore.

My head has been spinning on the thought of her being pregnant ever since the 24th, every single day I have been in penance and prostration. Her last period was on the 30th of August, I guess I will see how our fate ensues in the coming week. Please pray for me.
 
Take heart, you will be fine trusting in the Lord. You said it yourself, a baby is a wonderful gift. And a baby is a gift from God at ANY time. If your girlfriend is pregnant, it wont be the end of your life. Only God knows, but it may be exactly what God wants for you right now. I was in a similar position when I was in college, but my girlfriend did not end up being pregnant. That girlfriend ended up being my wife. However, we never had children and she divorced. Now looking back, not having children, I almost wish she had been pregnant! You never know what God has in store, but whatever it is , when you trust in Him , you will be fine!

So keep praying for His will, not yours. Sin no more, and go in Gods love!

Based on the calendar I’d say it is unlikely. You’ll probably know before a test would work anyway, they take about 2 weeks.
 
Probably not, but if she is remember a baby is a blessing and a lot of babies come into the world under less than ideal circumstances. This may be sooner than expected, but things will work out. 👍

Also, to avoid this problem in the future, I would suggest not getting into situations where these activities are possible: avoid going into bedrooms, avoid being alone together in private places such as homes (public places are fine because other people are around), etc. Get to know each other as people, and learn other ways to express your love for one another. Your marriage will be better for it because 1) you’ll be sure you’re marrying her for the right reasons: because she is right for you and will help you grow closer to God and will be a good wife and mother, rather than because you formed an emotional bond created by sex (making it difficult to find faults/incompatibilities), or because you have a kid together and 2) you will learn self-control, which is good for marriage because there will be times when you will have to abstain (illness, NFP, etc.) and you don’t want to be tempted to cheat on your wife because “your ‘needs’ aren’t being fulfilled” and you have become used to instant gratification. 👍
 
Thank you all for the great replies but I just don’t understand how I child would be good for us right now but I do trust in the Lord. I’m so very very scared, do you guys think there’s a high chance she could be pregnant? She started getting the bloating but it went away… does that mean the period was going to start but stopped because it noticed the sperm, if there was any… though I pray with all my heart that there wasn’t… I’m so very scared.
 
Like I said, based on the calendar, it’s unlikely. I don’t know why no one ever believes me. How she feels is a poor gauge. People almost always say now is not a good time for a baby. Simple fact is we can’t ever really know until years later. I would agree it would seem inopportune for you.

Um, no. That isn’t how her body works.

Her period would stop if she were pregnant, NOT because her body had detected sperm.

Sperm must meet up with an egg. Chances are she ovulated (released and egg) 12 to 14 days after her last period. The egg would live about 2 days. Sexual relations on day 25, for someone with regular cycles, would generally not result in pregnancy.

This is for someone with very regular cycles. This does not mean that all woman ovulate on or around day 12.

Thanks for the reply and yeah she usually has her period around this time. I mean is it even possible to conceive this quickly, to the point where shes already showing pregnancy signs? Because usually how her period works is, she’ll have bloating and then her period starts but this time the bloating came and went away and her period still hasn’t come. Could it just be late? Shes assured me many times that it should come some time this week, should I just wait?

If she normally gets her period on or around the 30th, then she isn’t late.

When you say wait, wait for what? There isn’t anything you can do right now. 🤷

There are only two options. She isn’t pregnant. And she will get her period in the next couple of days, or not. Stress can delay her period. Or she is pregnant, and she won’t get her period. If she doesn’t get her period, she can take a test.

When I got pregnant, I had symptoms before I missed my period. So yes, if she was pregnant, she could have symptoms. The problem is, based on the dates you have given, she most likely isn’t pregnant.

You really need to chill. Stop constantly thinking about it. Stop talking about it. At this point she is either pregnant or not. Worrying about it, won’t change what already is.

We were just exploring and wanted to know how penetration would feel. How could we have been so stupid though :(. Her period still hasn’t come today. If this becomes real, how long should I wait before buying her a pregnancy test?

I had a friend who conceived a baby “through clothes.”

There are tests at the dollar store.

There is something called a contact pregnancy. It happens when seminal fluid comes in contact with the woman’s reproductive organs.

May I ask how old you both are?
 
We’re both 17, I saw her today and we both talked about the issue. She told me the bloating was probably from a very heavy meal she ate at a party, the bloating had only lasted a couple hours so it most likely wasn’t period related. She told me that woman can usually know when there pregnant and that she really doesn’t feel that she is. Also that her breasts have started to feel tender which is something that often happens before and during her period, so she told me the period is most likely coming this week.
 
Bloating and tenderness can be minimized if she can stay away from salty food. Salty food before a period always tastes amazing, so it’s hard to stay away from, and not so amazing after a period.

Thank you and I shall, what really gets to me is that people without any form of contraceptive and full ejaculation still have trouble getting pregnant but me and her not even having actual sex and only maybe with some sperm residue… God have mercy on me :(.

A fellow I know and his wife, who were in their 30’s I guess, had been having trouble getting pregnant. They tried for a few years following charts and ovulation predictors and all the usual stuff. They never had any luck. Finally they just gave up and pretty soon she got pregnant, then later again. Don’t know if they’ve had more than 2 yet. He says the trick is to stop being stressed out about it and just go at it like teenagers.
