Dear Mikaele,Since I am 19 an unmarried, I don’t think I’m eligible to be a married deacon. But thank you so much for the information, it was mainly out of curiosity.
It is wonderful that you are asking these questions. The Lord is working in you but you need time to live your life. Marriage is also a sacrament. There may be a time in future that this call becomes stronger in your life and a true time of dicernment will happen for you. When I was 19, I had the same questions. 34 years ago, but the call to live a sacramental life as a married man, to share in raising children was also there and was the path I followed. Seven years ago, the call to serve God as a Permenant Deacon presented itself again. This time with the support and approval of my wife we have made that journey and are now only months from ordination.
I believe God place the seed within me to serve as a deacon those many years ago, my faith grew over the years until now it is maturing to bear the fruit to serve him.
Trust in the Lord and if this is your path in the future, he will guide you.
Peace,
