I am no authority, but my answer is ‘Heavens, YES’

If there is going to be a mass, outside of a church, off the schedule, you have to have permission from the Cardinal (or Bishop, depending where you live)

I also believe that if there is going to be an additional mass, there has to be permission, even if it’s in the church. One of the reasons for that is there is some limit to the number of masses that a priest can celebrate THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE, I HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS.

Just curious: why would you want a mass said in your home?

It is necessary for the priest who will say Mass to obtain the necessary permissions, and he should tell you what you must provide.

I don’t have documentation for this, but I was once told by a priest I knew that any priest who has faculties for celebrating Mass in his home diocese or other ecclesial jurisdiction, and who has not been explicitly denied faculties to celebrate Mass in the diocese or other ecclesial jurisdiction that he is currently in if he is not at home, may celebrate Mass privately anywhere he wants unless the Ordinary has explicitly restricted where that priest may celebrate Mass or where all masses in that diocese may be celebrated, with “privately” understood not to mean that other people may not be present.

So yes, unless the Ordinary of your diocese has forbidden a particular priest to celebrate Mass in your home or in any home within his diocese, or has forbidden the celebration of any Masses by any priests in your home or in any home within his diocese, then a priest may celebrate Mass privately in your home and you, your family or other people may be present.

Reasons for celebrating Mass in a private home may include that an ill person who is unable to leave that house would like to attend Mass, or some other good reason.
