Serra Prayer for Vocations

O God, Who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather that he be converted and live, grant we beseech You through the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, Saint Joseph, her spouse, Blessed Junipero Serra, and all the saints, an increase of laborers for your Church, fellow laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls, through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen
 
Lord, You told us that
“The harvest indeed is great but the laborers are few.
Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His harvest.”
We ask You to strengthen us
as we follow the vocation to which You have called us.
We pray particularly for those called to serve
as priests, sisters, brothers and deacons:

Those whom You have called,
Those You are calling now, especially Tyborek,
Those You will call in the future.

May they be open and responsive to the call of serving Your people.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
 
0 Jesus, Good and Gentle Shepherd,
grant that the men and women from our community,
may have the grace and the courage to hear and answer Your call
to the priesthood and religious life.
Give them the wisdom to realize that life is a gift.
Let them realize their life is part of YOUR plan.
Call forth those You have chosen to spread the Gospel message,
and help them to freely respond to a life of service in the church.
May the parents and families of our parish,
support and encourage our young men and women to search for,
follow and answer the call of God in their lives.

Amen.
 
**Prayer to St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows **

Dear Saint Gabriel, your very name recalls your particular devotion to Christ, the Man of Sorrows, and to Mary, his Afflicted Mother. You died young as a Passionist religious but left to us all an example of a life of Christlike sacrifice. Intercede for our seminarians and young religious, who are in desperate need of your patronage amid today’s sensual and selfish world. Amen.

Thank you for calling Tyborek to prepare for priesthood. Grant him the grace to grow closer to You through daily prayer.

Help him form his personality as a credible witness to others. Bless him while he studies Your word and the teachings of the Church, and give him a generous heart to serve Your people.

We ask this through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our great High Priest.

My God and Father in heaven, that night in the Garden, on the Mount of Olives, Your Son told Peter: " Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, who will promptly send more than twelve legions of angels to my defense?". ( Matt. 26:53 ).

Father, we ask You now: send twelve legions of angels with chalices of strength out into the Gethsemene of the Holy Church to defend and assist our priests, who, strengthened by the power and presence of these angels, may faithfully fulfill their priestly missions. Amen.
