Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven especially those who have the greatest need of thy mercy.
 
In the first Sorrowful Mystery we contemplate the prayer and agony of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Garden of Olives.


Meditation: *Overflowing with charity, Our Lord offered Himself up to fulfill the wishes of the Eternal Father, who gladly accepted the sacrifice of His Divine Son for the Redemption of mankind. The Divine Lamb foresaw the cruel pains that were to afflict His body and soul because of our sins, miseries, sacrileges, wickedness and ingratitude. This vision caused Him so much distress that He sweated blood from all His pores, and His soul was immersed in an overwhelming sadness. Nevertheless, He had decided to give His life on the cross, to do the will of the Father and obtain our salvation, which He ardently desired.

In this mystery, we ask Our Lady for a perfect contrition for our sins.*
 
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

**We pray for priests who are persecuted, physically or mentally abused; those who are imprisoned or prevented from offering the Holy sacrifice of the Mass or receiving communion. **
