Vocation Prayer to Mary, Queen of Apostles

We turn to you, Mother of the Church.
Through your “fiat,” you have opened the door which makes Christ present in the world, in history, and in individual lives.
In humble silence and in total availability, you welcomed the call of the Most High.
May there be many men and women in our day who respond to your Son’s invitation, “Follow me!”
Grant them courage to leave family, work, and earthly hope to follow Christ along the road that He walked.
Mary, Queen of Apostles, pray for us and for an increase of priestly and religious vocations.
Amen.
 
The First Luminous Mystery
The Baptism of Jesus

Jesus descended into the waters to be baptized by John. He took up the challenge of His Father.
He knew He would suffer on behalf of us and His suffering would lead to the forgiveness of sins.
He knew He was king but His Throne was to be a cross.

We pray that our priests will imitate Our Lord’s humility as they do their priestly duties by accepting their challenges from God.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
