He is shown in this holy card knowing the true vision of Christ with His Virgin Mother. Born into a wealthy family, made a bishop at 24, he was known for his spiritual fervor and dedication to helping the destitute during the time of plague, in fact, dispersing the last of his fortune to that end. He lived from 1538-1584, during the Counter-Reformation period. This holy card image is quite old and executed in the German style of that time: we simply added the gold trim, leaving it as is otherwise.

We pray that all priests may live only to do our Father’s will, as Jesus always did.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen

**We pray for priests who are persecuted, physically or mentally abused; those who are imprisoned or prevented from offering the Holy sacrifice of the Mass or receiving communion. **
