I am a mother of two sons with Autism and so this request is very important to me.
Please pray for all children with disabilities that they will find
- Healing
1a. God and deep faith and practice
- Acceptance and love in church and secular communities
- acceptance and love among their non disabled peers
3a. Love and support from their teachers and parents
- great education
- decent jobs
May we all love God’s special children and help them grow to the best they are capable of with God’s grace.
I ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Dear Maria Rose,
I share your concern for people with disabilities. I am the mother of four children who were born on the autism spectrum. In fact I have the most born on the autism spectrum to any woman in Australia and I am the sister of a very autistic/retarded boy (who died at the age of 24) in 1989. (He is nine years younger than myself). My children are also retarded ranging from moderate to severe. (One of my five children is not on the spectrum).
A few years ago I set up a novena for autistic children. Some details are below.
Greetings and prayers for all your intentions,
Mary Ann
Novena for the healing of autism
This is an invitation for anyone who would like to join in and pray the novena to St Philomena, the wonder worker for the healing of autism.
The novena is held twice every month from: the **1st to the 9th **of the Month and also from the **10th to the 18th ** of the month.
The prayer for the novena is at the following link:

Each person (who has autism or an autism related condition) whose name is sent to be included in this novena will be prayed for regularly by a priest of Lourdes, France at the grotto of Our Lady. Only the first name of the person is needed for the purpose of this novena. Everyone is invited to send names: parents, grandparents, teachers, doctors, aunties, friends, therapists etc.
My oldest child who was born in Janary, 1980 received a big healing of autism through prayer and effort.
I developed a simple effective method that helped her learn to talk. Before that she had virtually no speech at all and was cetainly past the age when she should have been speaking.
The method is outlined at this link:

In addition there are other items of an educational nature (music, reading, travel training), which I have put on my website for autistic children. There is a general article on autism there also. The menu page for these items is at:
