  4. great education

In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

This is a great thread for children with disabilities, whether mental, emotional, educational or physical, it is not easy for them and their families. Praying for all the dear children with disabilities!

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed by Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation but
Deliver us from evil!

Lord, please look with love upon those children and adults with disabilities and help us be good caretakers and friends to these your special children.

Dear Maria Rose,
I share your concern for people with disabilities. I am the mother of four children who were born on the autism spectrum. In fact I have the most born on the autism spectrum to any woman in Australia and I am the sister of a very autistic/retarded boy (who died at the age of 24) in 1989. (He is nine years younger than myself). My children are also retarded ranging from moderate to severe. (One of my five children is not on the spectrum).

A few years ago I set up a novena for autistic children. Some details are below.
Greetings and prayers for all your intentions,
Mary Ann

Novena for the healing of autism

This is an invitation for anyone who would like to join in and pray the novena to St Philomena, the wonder worker for the healing of autism.

The novena is held twice every month from: the **1st to the 9th **of the Month and also from the **10th to the 18th ** of the month.

The prayer for the novena is at the following link:

missionbell.homestead.com/novenaforautisticchildren.html

Each person (who has autism or an autism related condition) whose name is sent to be included in this novena will be prayed for regularly by a priest of Lourdes, France at the grotto of Our Lady. Only the first name of the person is needed for the purpose of this novena. Everyone is invited to send names: parents, grandparents, teachers, doctors, aunties, friends, therapists etc.

My oldest child who was born in Janary, 1980 received a big healing of autism through prayer and effort.

I developed a simple effective method that helped her learn to talk. Before that she had virtually no speech at all and was cetainly past the age when she should have been speaking.

The method is outlined at this link:

Teaching an autistic child how to speak

In addition there are other items of an educational nature (music, reading, travel training), which I have put on my website for autistic children. There is a general article on autism there also. The menu page for these items is at:

Bless you Karenanna! I just sent you an email, adding my neice Erin’s name to your list of intentions. What a beautiful novena! My family and I will be joining all in praying starting April 1st. God Bless!

Novena to St. Philomena the Wonder Worker
O FAITHFUL VIRGIN and glorious martyr, St. Philomena, who works so many miracles on behalf of the poor and sorrowing, have pity on me. Thou knowest the multitude and diversity of my needs. Behold me at thy feet, full of misery, but full of hope. I entreat thy charity, O great Saint!

Graciously hear me and obtain from God a favorable answer to the request, which I now humbly lay before thee:
healing for all people who have autism, and in particular the autistic children and adults that we are making this novena for, and help for their families, caregivers and the professionals who work with them.

I am firmly convinced that through thy merits, through the scorn, the sufferings and the death thou didst endure, united to the merits of the Passion and Death of Jesus, thy Spouse, I shall obtain what I ask of Thee, and in the joy of my heart I will bless God, who is admirable in His saints.
Amen.

The novena is being said for all people who have autism and autism related conditions. We are especially praying for the people who are listed on the autism novena webpage. There is a long list of names there, (only first names e.g. Lyn) of adults and children from around the world, who have autism.

For all ill children and especially those suffering some form of disability…

Hail Mary, full of Grace, The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among all women and blessed is the fruit of your womb: Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, please pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

still praying, and esp. that parents will bring all children to the sacraments and that pastors will respond as Christ and His Church direct with compassion and openness.

for my catechists, parents of special needs children themselves, who have devised and implemented teaching methods, aids, lesson plans and resources to address needs of specific children preparing for sacraments, that their efforts will be rewarded and current plans to make these resources generally available to other parishes will be fruitful

for these and all our intentions, we pray to the Lord
Escuchanos, Senor.
