Dear Lord,we pray that the Blessed Mother
wrap her mantle around your priests
and through her intercession
strengthen them for their ministry.
We pray that Mary will guide your priests
to follow her own words,
“Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5).
May your priests have the heart of St. Joseph,
Mary’s most chaste spouse.
May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart
inspire them to embrace
all who suffer at the foot of the cross.
May your priests be holy,
filled with the fire of your love
seeking nothing but your greater glory
and the salvation of souls.

Receive, Holy Father,
this Immaculate Host,
the Spirit of Sacrifice.
O my God,
pour it in its plenitude over your priests.
It is their glory as well as their duty
to consume themselves for souls;
to be victims,

May they contemplate what they say each day at the altar,
“This is My Body.”

Lord Jesus, we your people pray to You for our priests. You have given them to us for OUR needs. We pray for them in THEIR needs.

We know that You have made them priests in the likeness of your own priesthood. You have consecrated them, set them aside, anointed them, filled them with the Holy Spirit, appointed them to teach, to preach, to minister, to console, to forgive, and to feed us with Your Body and Blood.

Yet we know, too, that they are one with us and share our human weaknesses. We know too that they are tempted to sin and discouragement as are we, needing to be ministered to, as do we, to be consoled and forgiven, as do we. our intentions, our needs, our problems.
This time, I want to reverse the order
and pray for your priests, your servants,
and in particular I wish to pray for
Father T,
give him your Spirit’s blessing,
let him radiate in our milieu,
may he be a spiritual guide for us,
support him in his ministry,
nourish his spiritual life.
Thank you for giving him to us as a priest.
I pray you, risen Lord,
you who are our Eternal High Priest
and sit at the right hand of the Father.
