I was at our parish mission yesterday and the priest who was preaching touched on the subject of Catholics being killed by the millions in the Ukraine by Stalin. I began to think how many Catholics have been killed throughout the centuries? I mean since early on in the Church history Catholics have been persecuted in many ways. But physical violence seems to run rampant against Christians in general as the end all of this persecution. Even further it is not reported by secular media whether it is in the past or present.
I am not surprised by this omission just curious as to any thoughts you all have on the subject of persecution in general.
How many were killed and how many does it continue to be?
What proportions are we talking about? Was it more in the beginning or more during the reformation, or holocaust?
How does it compare to the true history of the inquisition?
Thanks for all your contribution ahead of time.
