😛 Trick question. I read MY Bible less than once a month. I reference online versions of the Bible or read verses (here on CAF) several times (at least!) weekly. I get three sections of the Bible every Sunday at mass too.

MY Bible occasionally gathers dust, even while I’m heartily immersed in reading the scriptures.

I am ashamed of my answer, I need to rectify this. The only time I open it is to answer something in the CAF.

Accountablility is good.

God bless.

Everyday! I still have to read the deuterocanonical books though.

"Fair Lady:
Which of these statements is true for you?
How do you define “reading” the Bible?
Is reading one verse daily considered reading the Bible, or one chapter, or one book or what?
The question is simple, the answer is simple. As I understand the question I believe the OP is asking “How often do you read scripture?”.

Is that correct Fair Lady?

Most every day. Now if you consider reading the Mass readings for the day or praying the LOTH, which are both Bible verses then daily. In between I choose to read a number of faith based literature books etc.

I understand that but my question is not how often but what does the OP consider reading the Bible to mean.
The OP might not think that reading one verse daily is really reading the Bible. It might be the OP has a minimum amount of reading to constitute reading.

To The OP,

Thank you so much for posting this thread. It has shown me that I need to put some more bible reading in my schedule. I did 15 minutes of lectio divina tonight, and feel very blessed.

I mean to do 15 minutes every single day. I finished 1st John. You guys pray that I can continue this.

God bless.

I read some part of Scripture reflecting on different theme each day.

Yes, that is correct. I think most, like me, will find that sitting down to read one verse usually leads to more (which is a wonderful thing!).

You are most welcome! Reading God’s word brings with it true blessings and I hope and pray that you will continue in it.

I try to every day. I have an app on my phone (Android) that shows the daily Mass readings, along with a commentary.

Any of the above. 🙂
Thanks and I agree. The reason I asked is that I know some people who do not consider reading one verse daily as reading the Bible. They say you should be at least reading chapters daily.

Does praying the LOTH count, after all you are prahing through the psalms and canticles?

If you read one chapter a day, you will get through the entire bible in about 3.5 years.
