EC posters and lurkers:

One of Catholic Answers’ forums’ prominent members died suddenly of a massive heart attack, leaving behind a wife and family, among many others who will grieve the profound loss. His forum name was brotherhrolf and his Christian name was Leonard.

While many here probably did not know him since he was a Roman Catholic with an affinity for the Latin Mass, I know that this forum’s participants take seriously the need to pray for those who have died, especially during the Fast, and it is my hope that out of Christian charity you will join in a spiritual bouquet that is being organized under my guidance. Here’s a short and sweet explanation of what a spiritual bouquet is if you’re unfamiliar. No money or material goods are being requested–just prayers.

If you would like to participate, please let me know ASAP what you will be doing for this spiritual bouquet. You need to write me by Monday, but the prayers may be offered any time between now and Holy Saturday.

Note that this is a count. For example, if four people in your family all say the Prayer for the Repose of the Dead, you would count all four. The introductory prayers would be listed out (1 Our Father, 1 Trisagion, etc) if said for this intention. You don’t have to, but may specify if the prayers are for his soul or the comfort of his family if you would like.

Any sacrifices, days of fasting, devotions, acts of mercy, whatever would be appropriate. Whatever you feel called to and can do between now and April 3, please offer it. Even one prayer will add up if many people participate.

Prayers would obviously be welcome whether you participate in the spiritual bouquet or not.

Thank you for your charity!

Memory eternal.

Give rest to the soul of Thy servant Leonard, O God, who has fallen asleep.

(Thank you, Catherine. I’ve sent you a PM.)

For Leonard - in memorium,
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and Let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace
Amen.

His wonderful posts will be missed terribly.

Memory Eternal! to our brother in Christ Leonard.

I will fondly remember brotherhrolf, God love him!

May Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Requien aeternam dona eis, Domine. Et lux perpetua luceat eis.

Many of us here shall miss him. It would be so fitting if he were given a Solemn Requiem in the EF.

For Leonard - in memorium,

Prayer of Cardinal Newman:
May He support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest and peace everlasting.
Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and Let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Aman

Bump. If you’d like to participate in a spiritual bouquet for brotherhrolf, please PM Catherine Grant.

Prayers, may his memory be eternal, may he rest in peace…
