I get up close and personal with Jesus every day. In the Eucharist we are assimilated into Jesus. That’s as personal a relationship as you can get! 🙂
How long does this assimilation last? If it does end, can you feel when the assimilation ends?

Beats me. Why does it matter?
It’s not important when you apparently lose assimilation with the son of the creator of the universe?

I’d want to know the exact moment I lost assimilation, so that I could get assimilated again.

Confess daily … and you will never lose/grieve the H.S.
Prayer/Meditation is the spiritual food for the soul.

Yes, but there was a good reason the Church encourages us to join hands and pray in unison. It is not a meaningless tradition.

Just because it may not of been the tradition before Vat. 2 … doesn’t mean we are wrong to promote handholding today. If it is good and enjoyed by our children [which it is — they love the unity it promotes] … it is worthy/desirable for adults.

Whenever I’m in Mass and all link hands on this occasion … invaribly there as some [usually the older adults] who won’t offer their hand. As if they will get our germs

… and same goes for the common cup, when some won’t receive for fear of getting germs from the Catholic folk. Did not the 12 all drink from the same cup … and we are taught to do likewise.
i hate all the Vatican II changes… and i have seen from experience why they DON’t work…

people… Yes, even during the MASS… discriminate when they are shaking hands or holding hands (or not holding hands)… They are friendly w/ their friends and family, but cool with… say… someone they’ve had an “issue” with…

its like a freaking popularity contest or something…

when i am at Mass i want to focus on Jesus and all the saints and angels who are there participating… I don’t want to focus on people… so that makes me sound misantrhoipic… dont care… i can see and interact w/ people all day long, all week long if i want…

***The Mass only lasts an hour… Daily Mass doesn’t even last that long…

If we can’t focus on God (only–virtually only…) for one measly hour… what the h-- is wrong w/ us??? ***

i guess those of us who have NO confession at the parish (unless you call and make arrangments… dont know of anyone who doesthat… but whatever…)

i guess we are all doomed to Hell…:eek::ouch::hypno::hmmm:

Are you suggesting our recent Popes are not listening/being guided by the Holy Spirit ? Change can be good. Especially change that returns the Church to more resemble the Church of 1st/2nd Centuries … the Church described in Book of Acts. Where they all shared in ONE ACCORD. Each person as their brother’s keeper.

You have 24 X 6 hours of week to worship Christ in private w/o ‘distractions’. Can we not find a single hour each week to worship / fellowship in unison ? John’s vision of heaven shows the saints worshiping together as a group. We must prepare for the inevitable now … or risk needing time in Purgatory learning to harmonize.

well, not all Catholikcs like the changes and i am definitley one of them. God doesn’t change. truth doesn’t change… Why should the Church change? If… well, if it "aint broke, dont fix it."

this thread is about having a personal relationship w/ Jesus…

I never had one of those… that made much of a difference in my life… until i became devoutly Catholic… started going to Mass often, etc…

The reason i hate greeting ea other in the middle of the Mass is because it takes one’s focus off Jesus Christ, if only partially…

I dont know about anyone else, but in my life… humans beings have been the problem…

humans beings are the primary reason i need Jesus and HIs love so much… because humans in my life have not always been very “loving” to say the least…

so when i am at the Mass… i want to focus on the one who loves me despite all my flaws and seeming flaws…

i dont want to interrupt that focus to focus on human beings who… (some of them ) actually hate me… Or so many of their actions tend to indicate…

i am happy for all of you who are hated by no one… good for you…

but then again, maybe NOT so good for you… since Jesus said that if you follow Him you will be hated…

so if no one hates you, you probably are not being a good Christian in some way or the other…

hmmm… gotta think of something to say… so i can have the last word again… :hmmm:

hmmm…

How much can you say (more) on self-gratification…?

it’s wrong, don’t do it…

… that’s already been said…

hmmm…

I think i will go away and think about this longer… :hmmm:

In the meantime… despite my lack of ability to think of anything much more to say…

i have managed to once again… have the last word … :o
