I know that this may sound quite silly, but I am asking it with genuine sincerity.
When Fundamentalists, non-denominational, and non-Catholics say that they have a “personal relationship with Jesus Christ” what exactly does that mean? My limited understanding interprets “personal relationship with Jesus Christ” as their view of Jesus as their pal and buddy; that they are almost humanizing Christ to earthly limitations, but I know that the phrase has to mean more than that. Perhaps I am making a mountain out of a mole hill. I just hear that phrase soften that anymore it rings like a marketing slogan.
Thanks.
