Hi all,

In advance, I’d like to thank anyone who took the time to read this, and especially those who might have answered my prayer request. Here goes:

I’m struggling with just feelings of stress and lonliness. Currently, I’m working, taking 17 units at school, working at a Police internship, volunteering with the church, and going through an intensive Police background check (The kind where they randomly knock on your door to go through your stuff and make sure your not doing anything illegal) for a job. Needless to say, I’m a little stressed.

Also, I know I’m young (22), but I am REALLY struggling with waiting for God to bring me the right girl. I kinda gave up dating non-catholic girls a couple of years back, in hopes that I would find strong catholics girls to date. However, I don’t why, but in my area they are not easy to find. Internet sites don’t have many girls my age, and the one girl I REALLY like is discerning to join a convent. It’s not that I can’t get a date, it’s that I can’t find a good catholic girl TO date. Non-Catholic girls who like me tend to be sorta…promiscuous, and I’d really like someone I can share my faith with, pray with, go to mass with, and learn to know God with.

I guess I was hoping that God would help me find a good match, but I’m getting really discouraged because it has been 6 years, and like I said, the one girl I finally REALLY like and would date is discerning to be a nun. Anyway, I think I am getting a little down, and I have lost a lot of motivation to do much lately.

Thanks again for anyone who has taken the time to answer my prayer request. I really need encouragement and strength right now.

Dear Lord, I ask that You wrap Your loving arms around Anthony, and relieve his stress. Give him Your peace, O Lord, and help him to see You in all things around him. In Jesus name we pray.

Anthony, with your current schedule, you might want to drop something to lessen the stress. And until you can lessen your load, you probably shouldn’t be trying add one more thing, like a serious relationship. All in God’s time, my brother. 🙂

I’m praying for you too. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. Just a little note before I pray… Some of the Diocese I’ve heard offer “singles” events from time to time. Why don’t you give them a call.

O God, we come to you now with the needs of Anthony. He is lonely and would love to have a good Catholic lady in his life. Hear us, Lord and send your angel from heaven to visit him and introduce hime to an angel here on earth. Comfort him and guide him to where you want him to be in his life. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. AMEN

Remember that we do best in relationships when we bring our wholeness to them. No one can fill voids inside us but* us, with the help of God.* When we are stressed, we want someone, and sometimes, anyone, to step in and take it away, but this often leaves us vulnerable to risky relationships that are based on neediness instead of fulfillment. Try to find patience and acceptance and then when a relationship comes, you will have good skills with which to recognize the right one for you. Peace be with you.

Thank you very much for sharing your story and hopes. I had no idea joining the police could be so intrusive. May God Bless you and keep you in your call and vocation.
