Thanks for recognizing a writer (GKC) who you see the value of, though not personally appealing.
Re: Fr Rohr, he is part of a whole generation of priests and sisters who came of age before or during Vatican 2, who hold more or less similar points of view. Many were significantly impacted by certain writers, especially Teillard de Chardin, and were also very attentive to trends in the secular media.
That generation is not replacing itself, not reflected in people entering seminary or religious life. I have cousins, laity, who likely were interested in Fr Rohr, et al, but not likely their young adult kids.
