Looks to me like these people are serious and like they want to be Catholics. I’m just sorry they haven’t heard about the ongoing negotiations between the Vatican and the Traditional Anglican Communion, or the request we made at the end of last year for “Full Communion” or “Union” as a “Prelature” or “Sui Iuris Church in Union” with and in submission to His Holiness.

If they had, they could join in with us - There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel. And, I don’t think it’s too late for them to apply for union with the TAC and, through us, with Rome.

If anyone knows any of the priests (or maybe even the Bishop of Fort Worth if he’s also involved), please contact them with the following information:

Diocese & Bishops - House of Bishops

It’s not as big as TEC or the Roman Catholic Church, but it’s the same size as one of the Eastern Catholic Churches, and we should hear about our application before the end of the year.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

Michael I’ll keep these intentions in my prayers and Masses. I’m very moved by all this. Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit I ask You to ensure the full cooperation of the Vatican.

May God’s Holy Spirit continue to bring wisdom and healing so we may be reunited with our brothers and sisters.

My prayers are with you…

i used to be in the Fort Worth diocese and this isn’t the first time. there are already some married priest there that came from the anglicans. one had brought his parish with him a few years ago.

One day every one will be Catholic. The Blessed Mother told us so and it is happening now even with the Muslims.

Trishie:

I found out some 3-1/2 years ago that any “difficulties” weren’t coming from from the Vatican, but, sadly, were coming from some of the Bishops and Laity in this country. The Vatican has even helped us to get our “House in Order”, so these negotiations would have a better chance of success, and we would have a better chance of integrating into the structure of the Catholic Church as one of the Sui Iuris Churches in union with His Holiness.

I can’t go into detail here, but you might want to look at the Anglicans to Rome Threads.

I do thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers on our behalf. They are appreciated.

False Alarm! False Alarm!

VirtueOnline - FT. WORTH: Four Priests Clarify Meeting with Roman Catholic Bishop

*August 16, 2008

To the clergy,

The following statement has been released jointly by Canon Charles Hough, Fr. William Crary, Fr. Christopher Stainbrook, and Fr. Louis Tobola in reference to the document released earlier this week concerning a June meeting between them and Bishop Kevin Vann.

Bishop Iker and the Standing Committee have asked that it be conveyed to you via Ad Clerum. It will be sent to all convention delegates and alternates as well.*

From: Fathers Crary, Hough, Stainbrook, and Tobola

*Date: August 16, 2008

To: The Clergy and People of the Diocese

We wish to emphasize:
  1. That the documents and our conversation with Bishop Vann solely ever represented the four priests named.
  2. In retrospect, we regret our choice of timing for starting these conversations.
  3. We deeply regret the phraseology of the document which has caused hurt and division.
  4. We remain fully committed to the goal of this Diocese, as plainly stated by Bishop Iker, to realign with an Orthodox Anglican Province.
Respectfully submitted,
The Very Rev. William A Crary, Jr.
The Rev. Canon Charles A. Hough, III
The Very Rev. Christopher C. Stainbrook
The Rev. Louis L. Tobola, Jr.*

That’s really a pity, because the 4 priests had it right the first time, and it seems most of the “Orthodox Anglican Provinces” that are either uniting or staying uniting are now talking to Rome on some level. I mean, there’s a veritable alphabet soup of Continuing Anglican “Provinces” that consist of a Bishop and a couple of parishes, but I just don’t think that’s what the DIOCESE of Fort Worth has in mind when they say “Orthodox Anglican PROVINCE”.

I think “Orthodox Anglicans” in the Diocese of Fort Worth have forgot that they’re CATHOLICS first and Anglicans second, and that the Anglican Expression is something that contributes to the CATHOLIC Faith, not the other way around. I hope they remember this before it’s too late.

I must beg your forgiveness if my posting of the information on Aug 15 had anything to do with this retraction, because this means that, once their attempts to bring unity came out into the light, those who oppose it were able to organize their opposition.

Sadly, Anti-Catholic Bigotry and Hurt Feelings are still more important to some than our Lord’s commands. May the Lord forgive them.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

PS: In case Bishop Iker is interested, I hereby offer the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) as an available “Orthodox Anglican Province” with a total combined membership of over 400,000 members on 6 continents worldwide. He and the people he is leading just need to be willing to accept the direction we are heading. He and the people he is leading just need to understand that they are CATHOLICS first and Anglicans second, and that their Anglicanism adds something to their CATHOLIC Faith, NOT the other way around…
