I’m reminded of this: attributed to Bishop Fulton Sheen:

“The truth is still the truth, even if nobody believes it; and a lie is still a lie, even if everybody believes it.”

Just being a Catholic doesn’t make any person incapable of error or misunderstanding, though sadly with regard to the question of abortion—the most important human rights issue we have today—it seems as if even those who supposedly hold and teach the Catholic faith which IS Truth, are being dangerously deceived. May God grant us wisdom to see the Truth and courage to uphold it.

I was simply stunned by the research Pew found: Can 77% of Catholic Democrats really support legal abortion? Is this the same group of Catholics research recently found who don’t believe that the Eucharist is truly the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Our Lord? In other words, are these nominal Catholics who attend Mass once a year and have no real knowledge of the faith? And what, what, what can we do to catechize them?
