Just read this Washington Post article about the Pope denouncing a group of dissident priests who question and are even encouraging disobedience to Church teaching on celibacy and ordaining women.

I agree with the Holy Father. The movement, called the Pfarrer Initiative, seems a push by these dissidents to force changes in the Church just to suit their own personal preferences and ideas.

There seems to be too much of this attitude today. Why is it that so many people today seem to feel some sort of entitlement to force changes on established organizations just because they decide they are smarter or more enlightened? If I felt as these priests seem to feel, I’d simply leave the Church and join a denomination that better suited my beliefs, not create disunity and try to force the Church to change to suit me. Seems ridiculous. Any thoughts?

I’m just now catching up on this initiative. I have not had the opportunity to read the english version of the Pfarrer Initiative, just read some news articles.Disobedience against Christ and His teachings is not the way to go. I do not believe in women’s ordination. In hopes of increasing the number of priests, especially here in America, I think the issue of allowing priests to marry should be strongly considered. I hope some married priests and deacons share their thoughts.

This initiative is a continuation of the march of Modernism began by some before and after Vatican Council II. We were warned by His Holiness Pope St. Pius X in Pascendi Dominici Gregis (papalencyclicals.net/Pius10/p10pasce.htm) about this heretical thought and the destruction it can lead to. During his later years H.H. Blessed John Paul II and H.H. Pope Benedict XVI have both warned of this as well. It is from the father of all lies. That which divides is from satan! That which unites is from God!
