Is anyone else having problems with Phatmass Phorum website? I keep getting the 404 message for over 12 hours now. Not too sure if it is the website or my computer.

It looks like it’s down completely. It’s just a landing page to buy the domain name.

Thank you for replying. I am thankful it is not my computer, while hoping Phatmass will be operational soon.
Regards…Barb

This is what I got

This site can’t be reached

The webpage at https://www.phatmass.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED

I am still getting the “404 Not Found” message trying to connect to Phatmass Phorum. Can anyone add to the mystery of what has happened to Phatmass.

Sometimes this happens if a site fails to pay the fee for their domain (perhaps inadvertently). Or maybe their payment failed to get credited to their account. Or maybe they just decided to call it quits.

Do they have any social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)? That’s where I’d check to see if any announcements have been made.

Thank you, Joe but I never use Twitter or Facebook and would not know how to go about it. I keep putting PHATMASS in my browser, but nothing comes up about Phatmass being down.

Thank you for what you have posted, Adam. It is comforting to know that it is not just us. I am surprised that other members of Phatmass have not posted here on Catholic Answers and filling any blanks that can be filled in…if it is possible. I am hoping it is nothing too serious, while it is unusual for Phatmass to be down this long without knowing why.

St Isidore please pray for us.

They have a Facebook page and a Facebook group. There is nothing posted in either about why the site is down. Some people on the group are posting annoyed about the outage and stopping their donations to the site. I agree it looks really shady for a page to be down for several days with no message posted in the Facebook groups or pages about why.

Hi Sister
The only thing I can find is found by entering phatmass.com in my browser. A page can be located stating that phatmass is…

It is quite strange to me that no one from Phatmass has posted on to Catholic Answers here anything at all about the sudden disappearance.

I first saw the above about 2 days ago. I have no idea what it means and nothing has changed on Namecheap for 2 days.

It is very strange; however “shady” perhaps not a good choice of words. Anything could be wrong, but I totally doubt it is “shady”. i am praying it is nothing serious, although I do tend to think it would have to be in that area. If it disappears completely as a Catholic website, there is nothing I can do I don’t think and I will really miss it. If it appears again, I will be posting as usual and have been doing so for the last 8 years or so.
Phatmass has done a lot of good work in the interests of The Gospel, vocations and evangelising.
Other than that, haters are going to hate and they are everywhere sadly.

Rest assured if I find out anything for sure, I will post into this thread.

It’s not a question of “haters.” It’s reasonable to expect some explanation or transparency from an organization that takes donations and then their page vanishes for days. The operator seems to have Facebook pages to post such an explanation upon.

Spot on, Bear. I have no problem with other members attitudes and perspectives and as an active Phatmass member for quite some years - a donator too until I hit financial problems. I would have resumed my donations once things went back to the norm financially.
I am concerned about dUSt, the owner of Phatmass. Very strict and you could like it or lump it and water off a duck’s back to him, including for anything I wrote…but a great Boss. 🙂 …pulled no punches…He is focused on getting the Catholic message out into cyberspace, especially, but not only, through and to youth. I am almost 74yrs of age:😀 I really respected dUSt including for his outright straightforwardness. He was always The Boss but always too a fair boss.
On reflection, “haters going to hate” was much too strong, for which I apologise, and rightly misinterpreted. What I meant was that some take a negative attitude and perspective.
I am just very concerned about dUSt and am hoping and praying he is ok. I miss Phatmass too. We were a real family - and like probably most if not all families, we argued…and argued…and then again!
Phatmass had a real living community per se spirit, even when active members dropped out of sight. Many re-appeared after quite a while, some thanked Phatmass for their religious vocations. We have another member now in the Seminary for a couple of years and over those years I was privileged to watch him grow through his posts. I hope and pray he does become an ordained priest. I think he will make a really good one, my cuppa tea anyway.

We had a great priest post weekly Sunday powerful homilies and we had a few active religious and an educated consecrated virgin, who is also a canon lawyer of some degree or other.
I miss them all. I learnt a lot, which I also do here on CA.

My apologies once again…Barb

Again, Thank you for what you have posted, Adam 🙂
There is a comprehensive report on your link i.e.https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/phatmass.com.htmlabout what to do; however I am a real computer dummy and have no idea what it means…all a strange languge to me in the main.

If anyone is interested on the mystery of the disappearance of Phatmass, if you know a bit about computers, you might be able to find something out. If you do, I really thank you - and please post all info into this thread.

Thanks again, Adam 🙂 …Regards…Barb

Can anyone tell me anything about Namecheap please - see above link to a previous post. I know absolutely nothing about it and a Google of Namecheap was again, a foreign language to me.
