Fact is, in the West, outlawing abortion before 20 weeks just isn’t going to happen, and he’s giving the reasons why not.
“X is bad”
“Well, fixing X just isn’t going to happen.”
“Yeah, oh well, let’s stop worrying about it then.”

Fill in “X” with, like, a ton of stuff throughout western civilization.

So you’re saying Catholics can now only surround themselves with and have civil discourse with those whose positions fly with the religion?
No, that’s not what I’m saying.

Are you saying that Catholic sites only surround themselves with and have civil discourse with those whose positions fly with the religion?

Just to clarify…

There are a number of appointments to Pontifical Academy for Life who are not Roman Catholic, including a Muslim, two Jews, a Shintoist, and an Anglican. The Pope asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to put forth the Anglican and he did - the Revd Dr Nigel Biggar from Oxford, one of our leading ethicists whose expertise is in end of life ethics.

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia has been shaking his head over all this and has been quoted as saying that the appointment uproar is ‘much ado about nothing.’
