I’ve just posted a new thread in the Magis Center for Reason and Faith group forum trying to summarize some of the ideas in George R.F. Ellis’s article “Issues in the Philosophy of Cosmology”. He presents a much more balanced picture of cosmological theories and what we do know (as science) about the creation of the Universe than that given in Hawking’s “The Grand Design”. His article does not claim, by the way, a deistic interpretation for creation, but suggests it as one possible metaphysical interpretation.
This has been posted in the Magis group forum because it’s a topic that is great concern to the members of that group, but all are invited to participate (believers, non-believers). Here’s a link:
