What does the church teach as far as mind goes? dualism or monism? or what? Also if loss of grace kills the soul. What was there before sanctifying grace enters at baptism?
The Church would say that our mind proceeds from the soul (rational soul): however, how our minds interact with our bodies, specifically the brain, is a matter for science to solve. What does the church teach as far as mind goes? dualism or monism? or what? I have heard other philosophies about mind but I guess what is important here is to next ask what the rational soul is? What is the soul that is killed by mortal sin?The Church would say that our mind proceeds from the soul (rational soul): however, how our minds interact with our bodies, specifically the brain, is a matter for science to solve.

The two main powers of the soul are will and intellect. The intellect is the part of us that has the knowing power and the will, that has the loving power. But I do not think that this division makes the soul a dual entity, since it is one “I” who experiences these things.I have heard other philosophies about mind but I guess what is important here is to next ask what the rational soul is? Soul is simply the English word for psyche (the Greek word translated “soul” in Scripture).I have heard other philosophies about mind but I guess what is important here is to next ask what the rational soul is? What is the soul that is killed by mortal sin?
Basically, Adam fell from grace -and Christ restores it.What does the church teach as far as mind goes? dualism or monism? or what? Also if loss of grace kills the soul. What was there before sanctifying grace enters at baptism?
Here is an alternative view of mind from Greylorn Ell’s book. It is not promoted by any major religion, but answers most questions about the relationship between soul, mind, and body, while bypassing the rest. What does the church teach as far as mind goes? dualism or monism? or what? The soul is of God, hence the requirement to be in the Presence of God in order for the soul to be alive. So the soul is for Light that is of God (His Word which is the Light of men) and darkness is not the place for men nor is mankind the place for darkness. Therefore the place of sin (darkness), now mankind’s flesh, can not be in the full revelation of God, or it will burn. So its, by Spirit and Truth is God known and worshiped. The flesh can not inherit nor participate in the things of the Kingdom of God.I have heard other philosophies about mind but I guess what is important here is to next ask what the rational soul is? Congratulations, Greylorn Ell, you’ve discovered Hinduism, and renamed the Atman a Beon. Bravo!:clapping:Here is an alternative view of mind from Greylorn Ell’s book. So, “the Word became Flesh,” all to no avail? The soul is of God, hence the requirement to be in the Presence of God in order for the soul to be alive. The soul is saved, not the flesh, therefore the soul is the inheritor of all that the Lord God has for His People. Fulfillment in the flesh (our flesh) returns to the ground, fulfillment in the Spirit gives power of God to be resurrected and be given a body that is acceptable in the Presence of God. The Body that Christ resurrected. Hence the Word became flesh that we may receive that which is not only acceptable in the fully revealed Presence of God, but is also the place that is given by God through His Son for us to be in His creation, which is restored by Jesus Christ to the Father’s satisfaction. So, “the Word became Flesh,” all to no avail?
On the contrary, Scripture says,The soul is saved, not the flesh, therefore the soul is the inheritor of all that the Lord God has for His People. Fulfillment in the flesh (our flesh) returns to the ground, fulfillment in the Spirit gives power of God to be resurrected and be given a body that is acceptable in the Presence of God. Hence the Word became flesh that we may receive that which is not only acceptable in the fully revealed Presence of God, but is also the place that is given by God through His Son for us to be in His creation, which is restored by Jesus Christ to the Father’s satisfaction.
Jesus is described as the second Adam for a reason, when you are born into this world you receive the life that Adam has, when you are born of the Holy Spirit you receive the Life Jesus Christ has.
Luke:3:38: Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. (the first Adam)
Men value this life and the fulfillment thereof, and rarely seek God unless it is to receive a fulfillment in this life in the flesh, but the Lord God values His Life with His People.
You were born into the flesh that was given to you of Adam isn’t your flesh that is your’s of Adam?On the contrary, Scripture says,
Job 19:26
And from my flesh I shall see God; . . .
The Lamb of God came to take away sin. That which is taken away, is no more. Therefore the Work of Christ will not be finished until all sin is taken away, from this world.
