Thanks so much for posting this picture! “One look is worth a thousand words”!
But words can sometimes help. I didn’t read the article, maybe I will have time to read it later, but the picture spoke to me of the present need in the Church – God’s Church has been “wounded” in this present day – and over centuries, scandals and persecutions are not new to the Church – Jesus the Word Made Flesh was wounded for our offenses, and on His Cross, He told us: “Behold your Mother”.
Mary is Mother and Model for the Church.
The young man in the photo holding up his Rosary looked very young to me, yet there was a wedding ring on his finger. Christ was only in his thirties, when he was crucified, but He too was committed to His Bride the Church.
May we also hold tight to our Rosary and more than just hold them, may we daily pray the Mysteries with attention and devotion, pondering in our hearts all that Jesus said and did – for the Rosary is “an epitome of the whole Gospel” (cf Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 971). In pondering the Mysteries of the Rosary, we can by God’s Grace, learn so much from the lives of Jesus and Mary as they walked this earth doing always God’s Will.
Mary especially helps us to keep all that we do not yet understand in our hearts. The more we prayerfully listen to all God reveals the more we pray to the Holy Spirit and rely on the Lord’s promise that The Holy Spirit will bring us into ALL Truth, the more He will help us to LIVE the Truth we hear.
Thanks again, for posting this beautiful photo. I think I will go back to read the article later. I’m just a bit pressed for time right now.
