Indeed unprecedented visit. The Catholics in the UAE are probably immigrant workers and their families.

I watched the motorcade, initial welcome, conference and Mass videos.
These reveal much more than single photos.
The UAE didn’t mince words calling this the year of tolerance.

Tolerance:

1. The ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.
2. The capacity to endure continued subjection to something without adverse reaction.
