The Black Nazarene procession, which just occurred January 9, was made up of more than 2 million people. Then a statue of Jesus kneeling, and carrying the cross, is carried through streets of Manila in a great religious procession. It is made of dark wood.

Two stories of people in the procession this year:

“Devotees tell how they were healed by the Black Nazarene,” a report at News – Manila Bulletin

“Devotion to Black Nazarene a faith-deepening reminder for Angeline,” a report at https://entertainment.inquirer.net/...arene-a-faith-deepening-reminder-for-angeline

“For Angeline, celebrating the feast is always a humbling experience. “When you’re in there, no one cares about what you do in life, whether you’re a celebrity or not. It’s all about the devotion,” the 30-year-old singer said.”

These Catholics are amazing. They love our lady, Jesus and processing as a family of God. They have filled churches for mass, they love to support community life, family…and in the USA …they stick together like magnet’s. For all those who might be claustrophobic …well no words needed. :+)
