*"To them, Lord, and to all who rest in Christ, grant, we entreat thee, a place of cool repose, of light and peace: through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

To us also, thy sinful servants, who put our trust in your countless acts of mercy, deign to grant us some share in your fellowship with the holy apostles and martyrs…"*

Call me crazy, but I am aspiring to be one of those Catholic nerds who can hold a conversation in Latin 😃
I actually just watched a DVD of “The Passion of the Christ” and actually understood about half of the lines in Latin, although the dialect is certainly different from the one at Mass. Also, Christ speaking Latin (to Pilate)…AWESOME:D:D:D-Christ speaking Latin! Is it historically accurate? I really don’t care. It’s awesome.

To add to the conversation, I like “Introibo ad altare Dei, ad Deum qui laetificat juventutem meam” and “Calicem salutaris accipiam et nomen Domini invocabo”. The latter is from a psalm and reminds me of the High Priest in the Old Testament taking the blood of the lamb into the Holy of Holies and speaking the name of the LORD.

My choice would be the most sacred part of the Mass:

**Hoc est enim Corpus meum **

The Latin is so rich and beautiful. What are your favorite lines from the Latin Mass, that maybe you just like personally or that God seems to point out to you?
For some time I have been partial to:

***…et a te numquam separari permitas ***
…and never permit me to be separated from Thee

I find myself adding it to the end of an awful lot of prayers.

James

Whenever I’m feeling a bit down, the following always occurs to me: (The spelling could be off)

“Quia tu es, Deus, fortitudo mea?. Quare me repulisti, et quare tristis in cedo dum affligit me inimicus.”

Where are you, God, my strength? Why do you keep me so far away, sorrowing while my enemies afflict me?
