Physical location of heaven?

Any idea why the focus on the assumption and ascension in the rosary then–and on the bodily resurrection in the Creed?
You’ve gotten some good answers here already. I would add that another reason for the focus on the physical body is to show that the physical body as created by God is a good thing. We have had past heresies where physical bodies were considered bad, dirty, something to be rid of and just concentrate on the spiritual. This is wrong thinking. God’s creation is good, and our physical bodies are part of his creation and will be eventually renewed along with the new Earth.

Before even bothering to answer your question -
What do you fully mean / define when you say “physical”?

Is it the same as our current Corruptible Flesh Body?

Is it somehow a different Body than what we possess Today - in our Post Fall - Pre Heaven Body?

Is it a Transfigured Body?

NOTE: After Jesus’ Resurrection - He also said in apparent connection to something now different:
“Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Interesting too is - “To my God and your God” … Yes?

**What is your Understanding of what I’ve posted twice now from Scriptures **
(for the edification of any reader) - Re: The Resurrected Body?

From knowing that - I’ll / We’ll have a better understanding which assists in answering your question.

Very Simply Speaking, It sounds to me that I know more about Resurrected Bodies…

It is Yes AND No.

Remember resurrected Jesus could get into closed room. But Thomas touched on physical body.

The Physical Location of Heaven?
Oddish Question…
Followed by some potential endless back and forth on the term “physical”

Yes or No? Hold the Phone…

You’re refusing to answer anything asked of you via that demanding-echoing “yes or no” gambit…

Let’s direct the attention to this question…

Do you believe those Saved get Resurrected in a Resurrected Body?

Yay? or Nay? 🙂

OK . I think we’re finally beginning to possibly cease perhaps talking past one another

Our Body… Will be made “perfect” =
and what is a perfect Resurrected Body?

It by necessity is different…

Speaking of our Resurrected Body… as we have been…

“perfect” is nice yet more imprecise…
as when compared with Saint Paul’s Presentation of Our “Resurrected Body”…

Before ending with a yay or nay just yet, at the least
let us review some points on the Resurrected Body from Scriptures 1 COR 15

. . .

Our current “Earthly Body” is Perishable.
Our Resurrected Body is Imperishable

There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies.

It is the same with the resurrection of the dead.
What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable.
It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God,
nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

Agreed thus far?

Thanks! I’ll check out that resource. I appreciate the thoughtful response.

Apostles’ Creed: resurrection of the body. Not: granting of a non-physical angel body. See what I mean?

Angels have physical body when on earth, cf. St. Raphael in Tobit.

That doesn’t mean that the old Eden is what comes back. 😉

There will be a physical resurrection. That doesn’t mean that we return to Eden, though.

Still our own though… right?

Semantics perhaps. God’s?

We’ll still be we… Different - arguably akin to that of the caterpiller to the butterfly…

A pure we… All akin in OneNess as are Our Lord and His Father via His Spirit…

Arguments over “body” ? ? ? do not actually concern me… for that has come to rank low-ish

GOD and HIS LAMB and ANGELS and EVERYONE IN HISTORY who winds up in HEAVEN

And the Wedding Feast of our Eldest Brother, High Priest - the Lamb of God!

The Comm-UNION of Saints? Imagine… !

From what I understand, the New Earth will be a physical place (just like this one, only perfect), and the New Heaven will be a new physical universe. In the meantime, Heaven, Purgatory and Hell are non-physical spiritual conditions, or states of being which the soul experiences, once outside of the physical body. After the final judgment, when the New Heaven and New Earth come about, they will be the added physical elements that will make all of Creation complete. That’s how I understand it, and it seems to make the most sense to me.

Nope. That was part of creation. We’re gonna get a “new heavens and a new earth”, not a “re-boot of earth”.
Well… The Post-Fall Universe/Creation - including Life -
is Qualitatively different than original Creation.

So a New Earth could arguably be the - we don’t even surely know what it was like → Pristine Earth…

In either case It’s really of no major matter to me… I’m just talking…

Salvation is my concern.
