Physical Presence Of Jesus

I just returned from Mass and have wondered about this for awhile. The daily Mass has only about 40 people attending. It seems as soon as we receive Communion we are moving to the end of the Mass with only about a minute or two of reflection after receiving. I remember reading or hearing that the physical presence of Jesus lasts until the host starts to be broken down- about 15 minutes. Has anyone else heard this-that is how long is Jesus physically present to us after receiving?
 
You will never hear the Church or theologians use the term “Physical presence.”

This is because Jesus is not physically present. For Jesus to be physicall present means that there would be a 180lb man on the altar.

You will hear the Church speak of the “Real presence” because Jesus is really present, but the presence is the substance of his Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. It is not the actual physical man.

Having said that, I have heard, yes, that it was 15 minutes. I’m not sure, but we should realize that God is present inside of us as long as we are in a state of grace. We are temples of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit dwells in each of us no less so than Jesus does when we recieve the Eucharist.

Greetings; I heard of this a number of times from Faithful parishioners. However; I haven’t found any official teaching on this.
This isn’t to say we shouldn’t have the fullness of mind, heart and soul lifted lifted away from worthily receiving the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present inside the Eucharist inside the inner sanctum of our most inner being praying and thanking Him for coming to fill our heart and soul.

Humbly; I think its irrelevant letting our mind drift thinking how many minutes He (Jesus) will be inside us. Its far more happy to know timelessly that He Jesus Is in our prescence and to regard the gift of those moments of sincere reflection as sacred and special beyond all worldly measure.

Yes, but I find that a little misleading. The Real Presence encompasses all of Jesus: body and blood, his soul and divinity, the entirety of him. His whole body is there. He is all there. You don’t perceive the appearances of him (180 lbs is an appearance) because the appearances of bread and wine (but not the substance) remain and are perceived.

I have heard this, and repeated this.

My understanding is that the church teaches that the Real Presence remains in the Eucharistic Species for as long as the Accidents of Bread and Wine remain (as long as the Eucharistic species are recognisably bread and wine to the external senses).

When these have been digested and are no longer bread and wine they are not the body and blood of Christ. Therefore the Real Presence does not remain when what is left over by your digestive system passes out of your body.
(unless you were to spit the host out straight away).

Similarly if a Host is contaminated and therefore unable to be consumed, it is reserved in a seperate tabernacle untill it ceases to retain the accidents of bread (i.e. the natural processes of Fungus and Bacteria have made it no longer Bread) At that time is can be disposed of into the Sacarum

The idea of 15 minutes relates to a best guess based on scientific understanding of digestive processes, combined with the above understanding.

The indwelling of Christ and the Holy Spirit within your Soul and within your Body are not subject to this time limit.
Holy Scripture tells us that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit. This applies always. Our very Life comes from God Breathing his Spirit into Adam and Eve. Our Life is part of the Spirit of God. Our Soul comes from the Holy Spirit:
“The Lord, The Giver of Life”

in Hebrew, the word for Spirit, Wind, Breath and Life are all the same word. “Ruatha”
therefore “Ruatha Elohim” is the Spirit / Breath of God.

from the Gospel of John:
In the beginning was the Word. the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through Him all things were made.

So Jesus is the Word of God. He is the Breath of God formed into Word. - Here we see a glimpse of the mystery of the Trinity. The triune Godhead. 3 distinct Persons. Each distinct but inseparable. A mystery beyond the full comprehension of a mind like mine.

In receiving the Body of Christ in the Eucharist, we receive an extra, and particularly special gift of our Lord God. We partake in the action and fruits of His Sacrifice for our Redemption, and for our Salvation. We Eat of God’s own Passover Lamb: His Own Son.

Don’t be overly concerned with minutes on the clock when receiving this amazing, Divine Gift. Let yourself be blown away by Awe and gratitude for what He has done for you.
Stay with Him a while and pray.

The Real Presence lasts for about 15 minutes, as far as I know. The old form of the Rite has a somewhat longer space between Communion and the end of the Mass. The new form calls for the priest to give the people some time after Communion, but I’ve been in parishes where I barely have time to kneel that I hear: “Let us pray”. 🤷

Anyways nobody stops us from remaining in recollection after Mass is ended. We should stay with the Lord for a few minutes after Mass. The Lord does feel displeased about this indifference after receiving Holy Communion. He even mentions it to some religious in private revelations, as we know from a few diaries of saints that received the imprimatur.
 
Does it means that Jesus was just present in us through the Eucharist for 15 minutes?
