Some of you are familiar with my postings, and know that I’m finding inspiration in Catholicism and have decided recently to take the leap, and complete the process of becoming Catholic. Some of my Catholic friends have talked about their patron saints to me, and one even suggested praying for the intercession of the Blessed Mother on my path. That sounds, of course, like a great idea. I’ve done so on a few occasions, such as “Blessed Mother, pray for me, and intercede, to help me find the path your Son would have me take.” Hope I did that right.

I’ve always been drawn to St. Teresa of Avila. For some reason, I get the feeling that she wants to be my saint. Don’t know any other way to put it. I’ve been drawn to read about her life for years. I am inspired by her intelligence, her scholarship, her devotion to God, and also, initially felt connected to her because she’s the patron saint of headache sufferers. I’ve had migraines since I was 9 years old. Some make me horribly sick for days, and I know Teresa suffered health problems her entire life. I wish I could find a Saint Teresa medal, but the one place I looked here in town didn’t have one. May have to order one at a Catholic supply online, I guess. 👍

I have a feeling I’m going to need the guidance and intercession of a patron saint, the Blessed Mother, and probably quite a few angels along the way in this life. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks! God bless. 😃

St. Francis of Assisi

St. Joseph

St. Anthony

St. Pio

St. Patrick (Even though I’m NOT Irish)

Just some personal bias !! :D:D:D

May the SACRED HEART BLESS You for taking the leap!!

St. Colette, St. Catherine, St. Anne, St. Michael, St. Benedict, St. Jude, St. Margaret, St. Bernard, St. Martin of Tours, St. Boniface, St. Agnes . . . and the beat (of the wings) goes on.

Read about the saints and you’ll know your choice, but, honestly, it sounds as though you’ve already made it. EVERY saint is a SAINT, so you can’t go wrong with any one of them!

Congratulations upon your decision. May you never waver from your newly chosen path. God bless you! We’ll be cheering for you!

I am in the process of choosing a saint for m y confirmation name too.

I have an online friend, who isn’t religious, but who has an affiliation with St Michael the Archangel. So I was aware of him when I began looking up saints.

And then I came across the St Michael prayer and I love how powerful and emotional it is. ASnd I loive how St Michael is defender of the Chuich and is so stead=fast in his loyalty.

So I am thinking of making him my confirmation saint, even though I am female 🙂 I have not felt drawn to any other saint has I have to him 👍

I second Padre Pio on that one.

On the other hand, I tend to lean towards these saints:

Mary (duh :p)

St. Jean Vianney

St. Augustine

Then, for angels, I like St. Michael, but I like St. Raphael as well. :angel1:

And I’ve leaned in the past towards St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Thomas More, but nowadays, it’s mainly just these three/four human saints that I mentioned earlier.

But I guess any saint helps – one of the few reasons why I chose St. Jean Vianney as my patron was because I just felt drawn to him when I read his hagiography. 🤷 Maybe you could do that too (I mean, it’s good spiritual reading anyway)?

I like St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, St. Claude, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, St. Louis de Montfort, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Raphael the Archangel, St. Therese of the Little Flower, St. Alphonsus Ligouri, St. Veronica, St. Gertrude, St. Mechtilde, St. John Eudes, St. Faustina, the Blessed Virgin Mary (my favorite),… and a few others (maybe). I know I have a lot, but these Saints I like in some way yet I know little of most of them. Mostly they center around my devotions or my problems. I pray to them every night but that is about all. Enjoy finding a Saint as your Patron (St. Teresa of Avilia sounds good for you)!

Rather than one saint for the rst of my life, I have decided to pray for intercession to a different saint everyday.

I did too! I chose him as my saint even though I’m female. My confirmation name is Michaela in his honor.:yup:

You can always choose St. Teresa if you like since she is a very wonderful woman and one of our handful women Doctors of the Church. You can also pick your birthday saint. There are a lot of them from the very ancient ones to the modern examples of holiness. Good luck!
