I’ve always wanted to attend this Parish for its sheer interior beauty!! We have family in the Chicago area and sometime when we’re visiting them I plan on attending Mass there. Stunning

I just love the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. I’ve been going there for the 5:30 daily Mass for almost 30 years off and on. It’s truly my spiritual home, in spite of the fact that it’s not really my parish.

That would be kind of out of the way for me, too, but it’s pratically down the street from where I work (and up another road). If I could, I would probably go there right after work, too for the 5:30pm mass. If I could join the Catholic Church (and by a miracle that my family would actually let me out of the house to do so…), my local parish would probably be St. Ursula in Parkville. A few of my former co-workers from my old job go to that church.

The church that I go to now is St. Peter’s Lutheran church - your typical stained glass/stone building-German style church. I also don’t like the modern church buildings - whether it’s plain walls, or shaped like a pyramid (those are the worst!).

Here is a picture of St. John the Baptist UC Church, a church within my parish (but not the parish church).

They make delicious pirohy here, and the building’s appearance helps give the parish a real Old World feel to it.

I’m half-expecting the Klingon ambassador to the United Federation of Planets to burst in and demand Admiral Kirk’s extradition…
In the left-hand window, is that a dragon? Could be a seahorse too. I’m not sure whether Lucas or Roddenbury gets the credit for this one. I can easily picture Captain Picard (too modern for Kirk) sitting in his techno-chair up in front, but I can also easily imagine Darth Vader presiding from the altar (“I find your lack of faith . . . disturbing”).

Don’t kill me yet. I posted my church in other thread before, and many people complained about the crucifix. 😃

Here is my parish stmary.sg
You can view the unusual 360’ images of the church.
Pax tecum!

It looks like a basketball gym with stadium seating. Who designed that?

In Christ,

Not only that, the liturgy is breathtaking. If you’ve never been to a Byzantine-rite church, it can knock you off your feet! 👍

Well, of course I live in a Chicago suburb. But look on the map. See how many Chicago suburbs there are?

I wasn’t afraid you were going to hurt me. I just enjoy anonymity.😃
Is it Lombard???😃 - I’ve never been in a Parish Church in Lombard or any other suburb there.

Parish in Minot ND, St. Teresa nothing special. Simple but I love it!

I had the same thought about the window depiction.

I think we probably agree this space-age church is a magnificient ediface to something besides Catholicism.

There are some very beautiful Catholic Churches in this thread which are so encouraging!
