Posted this before I saw that others were of like mind… why are some of the other modern buildings an offering of so much horrible concrete…I must borrow a camera and photograph my church for this web…there are some truely stunning churches here as well, love the St Louis one

Yep the 1955 renovation was pretty bad. Thankfully now we are finishing up some things in the current renovations. I just wish we could somehow put up a wall or something between the chapel and seating behind the altar.

Someday, someone in this diocese will learn what the term “renovation” really means.
 
Ahhhh… Prince of Peace! The new church is a MUCH better improvement than the “thing” they had before. Msr. Crogan was the priest that destroyed everything in St Mary’s after the Council except ONE Altar Crucifix. Then he built the spiral monstrosity at P.O.P. and the new church is a much better building. I really wish they had made stained glass windows though instead of the open windows… they are very distracting when I can see the parking lot during Holy Mass. And there is that weird creaking noise the church makes, it is really disturbing some times haha. I dont know though… it seems a little dead on the inside, it needs more life to it, everything is so spread out and low but it has such a high ceiling that everything gets lost in the free space I think, but it is the only place we have the Indult at the moment so its okay. Also, I really wish they had put the “organ” and choir in the Loft and not off to the side.

We dedicated our statue of Pope John Paul II on October 29 with our Bishop in attendance. Our Pastor told us we had at least 840 people at the Mass (Standing Room Only). Here is a photo of the statue.

This is my daughter receiving First Holy Communion. Yes, she is kneeling and receiving by intinction.
Although the church itself has many fine statues, we have that all wood eighties touch. I pray that our new main will be filled with all the beauty that our Holy Mass deserves. Our wonderful pastor (God Bless his soul) makes our masses beautiful no matter what.

First of all thats a picture taken during the actual construction period.

Second of all we are still looking for someone to help fund the ceiling, we ran short of funds.

Third, those are lights.

Fourth, do you ever say anything nice, as through Charity, or are you always negative?
