Pigeon Forge Churches

Has anyone been to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pigeon Forge or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gatlinburg?? I’ll be there next weekend and wondered if they were ok.
There are only 3 Catholic Churches in Sevier Co. and Holy Cross is only about 5 minutes from where I’ll be staying.

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!👍
 
I don’t think individual parish churches should be singled out and discussed by name as being “good” or “bad”.

A suggestion: Go to whichever you choose, and no matter what you see, no matter what you don’t like, and no matter how many guitar songs you are asked to sing or how bad a preacher the homilist is, stop and realize that what is going on is so much bigger and more important than the people involved. Our Lord is comming onto the Altar and you are receiving Him in unity with other believers who also manifest Him to you.

And that happens no matter how lousy things seem.

I have known the pastor at St. Mary’s in Gatlinburg for 50 years. He is up in years now but still very active. He has been an army chaplain, boy’s basketball coach and teacher. I cannot comment on his homilies, but he is a wonderful priest, or I should say, monsignor.
 
Enjoy it no matter which one you go to. Since a lot of folks visit there I bet they are all great.

Love those mountains - have a great weekend.
 
Are ya goin’ to Dollywood? Have a good time! Never been to either parish, though.

Yes, it will be my first time going and I’ve lived in TN my whole life!!

I didn’t mean to sound that way, I just want to make sure that parishes I attend on vacation aren’t uber liberal or anything. 🙂
 
Let us know how it went, both Mass and Dollywood!

We are sticking close this year, probably an “in-town” vacation, where we go to local sites and come home at night. If things work out, though, we could sure use a trip someplace, more than likely “da Dells”. Hey, what’s the point of being a kid living in the metro Chicago area and not having at least one vacation at “da Dells”?😉
