Pilgrimage Advice

At the end of the the month My Godfather is taking me to Rome for two weeks. During my few years away from the Church he was always encouraging me to come back to Mass and always saying how Catholicism is “the true religion”, though always with a smile because he also likes to offend politically correct sensibilities. Anyways, now that I’ve returned to the faith, and because of our mutual penchant for travel, we’re off to Rome!

Anyways, I’m not the “tour group” type. Does anyoe have any advice of locations, churches, events, strategies, or things to do in Rome ideal for the full Catholic experience?

Quite obviously Vatican City, but I imagine I could even spend the full two weeks in there alone…

Some churches you MUST see. St Mary Major, St John Lateran, St Paul Outside the Walls, The Gesu (Jesuit church), The Pantheon, there are quite a lot of other churches that have some famous statues, I just can’t remember the names. Of course you have to visit the catacombs, I recommed the catacombs of St Priscilla which has some beautiful frescos. The Vatican Museum could take over a day to see. The colesium and Roman Forum are another must see as well as the other more secular sites of Rome
