My diocese (Raleigh, NC) is planning a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in April, and I am hoping to attend. I understand we will have a Mass said by our bishop, a tour, opportunities for confession, saying the rosary in several different languages, stations of the cross, etc.

I don’t know much about this sort of thing – is there some sort of indulgence attached to making this pilgrimage? What actions do I need to take while there to achieve it?

Thanks, and if you have prayer intentions you’d like me to make for you while I’m there, just let me know.

Is there an Indulgence attached to the the upcoming Pilgrimage?

There might be.

I would call the person in your Parish in charge of the Pilgrimage.
That person should know.

Or, call the site where you are going.

Getting some form of Indulgence for the journey is usually set-up far in advance (and, is THE reason many people choose to journey to that particular Holy Site).

And about what you will need to do to obtain that Indulgence, normally, if you fully participate in the Pilgrimage (attend the Mass, and other activities), you will receive the full amount of Indulgence provided for.
