The performer, crew, arena staff, etc are paid based on the income generated by ticket sales.
To consume the product without paying for it is doing an injustice to those people.
To play on your analogy in another way, let’s say Uncle Joe’s Buffet is required by law to dispose of pans of food that have sat on the buffet for more than 20 minutes. Can I morally come into the restaurant, time when each pan is placed on the buffet and at 19 minutes and 59 seconds rush forward to fill my plate with the food from that pan. Continue to do this until I have filled my belly, then, refuse to pay because “that food was going to be thrown out anyway”?
The mental gymnastics people go through to justify stealing movies, music, software, etc. boggles my mind.
