So at my church we have a new priest he eventually wants to rebuild the communion rail in the church and wants to move stuff around, including the possibilities of a raise ambo/pulpit. I told him I would draw up some ideas and I was wondering could the ambo be placed on the right side(if you were facing the alter) of the church. The liturgical south side. I assume you can, but when I try to think of a church where there is an ambo on that side all that I can think of is a few anglican churches. so… does anyone know if it matters?

Better check with your local dioceses. As far as I know, this would have to be approved by the Bishop.

In our church we have a raised ambo which is to the east/right of the alter as you walk into church.

Thankfully our bishop is pretty reasonable, but this is a few years off, I am just drawing some designs so that we have some different options to present first to the parish as a whole and then the bishop.
