It was stated that scientists believed that a “flood of bibilical proportions” occured on Mars which has no water.Strange is it not that these same scientists do not believe that a flood of biblical proportions occured on earth - twinc

The difference being that there is geologic evidence of a massive flood on Mars. There is no geologic evidence of a worldwide flood on Earth.

if there really was a worldwide flood on earth what would the evidence be “millions of dead things buried in sedimentary rock layers covered by water all over the earth” - guess what the evidence is - twinc

Except that Mars apparently DOES have massive amounts of water, as proven by the recent discoveries of the Mars rovers. Much of it is now trapped just under the surface as ice, although some may have evaporated into space with the thinning of the atmosphere. Further, it wasn’t so much a flood on Mars as the fact that Mars used to have an ocean.

Robert Ballard (the finder of the Titanic wreck) has found evidence of a collasal flood in the Black Sea that dates to the time we think Noah lived. He has found villages submerged for thousands of years.Again more Archeology equals moe support for the Bible as an historical record for significant events. (They just found a Sumerian tablet that mentioned King David dated to about 1100 BC same time as we know from the Bible that David lived)

It’s not that they do not believe that there was a flood on earth but science does support that there were a series of catastrophic floods throughout the northern hemisphere as the ice began melting from the last ice age. We know this from the geological evidence. At one time in the past, we know that Mars had an atmosphere similar to ours and was able to support water.

There was only one ice age and this was as a consequence or result of cooling after the global flood - twinc

I’m kind of hoping this thread gets moving in a positive direction… it seems to have quickley degenerated into an unedifying “am not”/“are to” bickering…
