WASHINGTON, D.C. — “Planned Parenthood’s ‘Choice on Earth’ holiday cards are its latest assault on Christianity,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American life League. “By changing the word ‘peace’ to ‘choice’, Planned Parenthood is effectively implying that Mary should have considered aborting Jesus.”

American Life League’s latest video report exposes Planned Parenthood’s continued assault on Christianity. The report goes from ‘Choice on Earth’ holiday cards to Planned Parenthood’s involvement in a 1973 comic book that depicts a sacrilegious rendition of Mad Magazine’s Alfred E. Newman posing as the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“King Herod sent soldiers out to slaughter babies because he wanted to kill Jesus,” said Sedlak. “Two thousand years later, Planned Parenthood is still doing all it can to kill babies. That is what their motto ‘Choice on Earth’ really means.”

American Life League’s video report can be viewed online at: all.org/newsroom_allreport.php

“Planned Parenthood continues to flaunt its anti-God, secular humanist agenda in its products and in our schools,” Sedlak concluded. “It is time for all Americans to stay away from this organization.”

This is really sick. If they aren’t Christian, why send any kind of Christmas card at all? They can simply stay away from the whole thing and celebrate New Years or something instead. I am truly appalled!

In a weird way, this is good news for pro-lifers. Any normal person getting one of these or hearing about it is going to realize that PP is more than a little bit ‘off.’

**Why is Jim Sedlak’s opinion that the intended meaning was to promote a belief that Mary should have…good grief its not at all what I think it means. I see no assault on Christianity, just a promotion of their views on one’s right to choose. You can certainly be against the policy without claiming they are implying such a dispicable thing as this off-the-wall interpretation. **

I’m curious. If one were to take the position that this is nothing other than typical advocay on PP’s part, does that mean you don’t think there is a play on words here? “Peace on Earth” i.e. Christ the Messiah, God Incarnate come to bring peace to humankind. That’s a normal message you’d see on a Christmas, pardon me, Holiday card.

The timing of a variation changed to “Choice on Earth” doesn’t jar you? The origin of the phrase is inextricably linked to the BIRTH of Christ. The mission of PP is inextricably linked to the idea that women ought to be able to kill their unborn children.

That they would send a “Holiday Card” this time of year with an abortion message eerily similar to a message of joy about the birth of Christ is not a coincidence. I’m flabbergasted that anyone could try to explain it away!

First I don’t think "peace on Earth is "inextricably tied to Jesus’ birth. It’s a holiday phrase. Plenty of Holiday cards I’ve seen say Peace on Earth, with a dove or other bird and a happy holidays inside with no religious connotation what so ever.

I think it odd that anyone would assume that PP would go out of its way to antagonize the right who needs no excuse in the first place to attack them.

As I said you may disagree with PP on all issues as only Catholics do, or on some, or none at all. But its a huge stretch IMO to suggest they were advocating the abortion of Jesus. It’s just the usual rantings of the evangelical right.

PS…are you following me around on every thread as my new friend? You seem to take the exact opposite position from me and on nearly every thread I’m on. ?

A “Holiday phrase” huh? WHICH holiday? What is that holiday all about?

It does seem we’ve butted heads recently, doesn’t it? You just seem to pop up in threads that also catch my eye.

Perhaps you are my evil twin? 😉 😃 😃

I love how abortionists always talk about “choice” and avoid any mention of the real issue: abortion.

that’s some kind of linguistic acrobatics and flimsy reasoning there.

I’m devotedly anti-abortion, not just pro life, but would have abortion outlawed, and think it is the most evil thing ever to be conceived, but to derive that they intended to imply that Mary ought to have aborted Jesus is just absurd, and no fair minded persone couls possibly come to that conclusion.

true, I always think of the end of “Red Dragon”(Hannibal Lecter movie), “what strange times we live in, neither wise nore savage, a sane socioty would either kill me or put me to some use”

We kill our children, allow doctors to become murderers etc. and do nothing. As Bill Maher pointed out abortion, as much as the pro-choice propagandists would like to suggust, is not a necessairly religious issue, Christopher Hitchens said he thinks abortion is wrong, I’d submit that anyone with any sense of morality and rational thought can see that this is clear insainity.

Even when I was an atheist/agnostic I found the prospect of abortion sickining, it’s a wicked act.

I see we have a confusion of issues. I don’t necessarily believe the card clearly implies Mary should have HAD an abortion (like this Jim fellow might seem to), but the timing and use of a Christmas card with a cleverly modified Christmas phrase clearly implies that she ought to have had the CHOICE to. THAT is what I find offensive: that they would tie in an abortion message into a religious holiday centered on a BIRTH.

I think it resulted form anti-abortionists deciding that they sounded better calling themselves pro-life. That required the other side to offset that pejorative and not particularly accurate appelation, and they chose pro-choice.

hehe, well its a holiday that was a pagan holiday that was taken over by the Church and denoted as Christ’s birthday. Now we know that the date most assuredly is not Christ’s Birthday, but those of us who are Christian so celebrate it. Millions however view it as a simply holiday. Since I believe PP is non-profit, I would assume they would not be allowed to promote a particular religious connotation in their seasonal greeting.

I guess we must be twins…lol…are you 57?

They have chosen war…so be it…😉

First murder, now blasphemy, next __________ (???)

Uhh but we really are pro-life. to be against murder is pro-life

Is not it funny that the whole organization was started by a Catholic? Margaret Sanger, you’ve got a lot to answer for.
