I just received the following email from a friend. I am shocked to have received it and disgusted because affordable healthcare for women, and abortions, are two completely separate issues. I support affordable healthcare, but I do not support abortion. I support free healthcare and low cost healthcare for those who need it, but I do not support abortion.

I am so sick and tired of pro-life activists being labeled as anti-choice.

Rather than get on a long rant (which would be easy enough), does anyone know of a petition to sign that counters this one?

Sincerely,

*I just participated in a campaign to support Planned Parenthood
and the women it serves.

Here’s the background:

Ground zero in the fight for women’s access to reproductive
health care just landed in Aurora, Illinois, a fast-growing city
outside Chicago, where Planned Parenthood just built a large
health center.

The usual suspects in the anti-choice fringe have showed up in
droves - more people are protesting this clinic than Planned
Parenthood has seen in a very long time. They need our help!

People like you and I are tying ribbons *]outside the new clinic -
a ribbon for every supporter. If we get massive amounts of
ribbons tied, we’ll send a powerful message to the protesters
that Planned Parenthood has support from across the country.
And, we’ll also let the women seeking care there know that they
are welcome and supported, too.

You see, what’s happening in Aurora isn’t just some isolated
incident. What’s happening in Aurora today is what’s happening
in America. It’s not a war on a clinic - it’s a war on women’s
access to needed health care - in Aurora, and across our
country.

Join me! Tie a ribbon in your name. Click here:

Yes, American Life League, through it’s STOPP division, has a petition to lobby Congress to cease all tax funding of PP.

I’d write them back and tell them that you will not sign the petition since you ARE one of the protestors who prays daily that they will be shut down forever. And, ask to be removed from their list.

How on earth did you get on their list to start with?

My friends are VERY aware of my values and stand, while all of us do not share the same beliefs - we respect each other and would never send something so oppositional to one another.

Maybe this friend is not really a friend if they have no respect for your beliefs. Pray for them!!

Hmm, funny how they built a huge “health” center in Chicago where there is a large Latino population. Can someone say state-sanctioned Genocide??

I missed that, I didn’t see it was from a “friend”.

Wow. I’d have to confront that friend about her errors.

I’d gather a good number of brochures and booklets from www.all.org, www.omsoul.com, and www.hh76.com and deliver them to her.
She knows I oppose abortion but she also knows I am a strong advocant when it comes to providing health care to those who cannot afford it. I oppose Planned Parenthood for many reasons, but the one way God uses good to come out of evil is that they provide free health exams to women who need them. I wish we had more clinics like that, that do not provide abortion and contraceptives. Don`t misunderstand me, I strongly oopose Planned Parenthood.

Thanks for the resources above! I will write that letter this weekend!

Sincerely,
