Constructive advise coming Kelly Lean on the God and his son not dead people who cannot help you
These “dead people” were humans as well and struggled greatly in their human lives. We, as Catholics, can find great humility and understanding in them and their lives and to pray to them for intercessory help… is helpful. You, being a Protestant, I guess doesn’t understand the power of a dead relative that you found favor with, or was extremely close to in their life? I guess you’ve never ever ever ever thought of them after their death and asked for a “please pray for me, I need help.” type prayer.

Anyway… to the OP… I will pray for you and ask Mary for your protection. It’s a struggle for more people than you’d think, women included, so fear not. God is on your side and “this too shall pass.” Keep visiting the Confessional as the more you go, the more Sanctifying Grace you’ll receive in order to fight the temptations. Visit Christ in Adoration too!

Good luck and peace be with you!! 👍

First of all, I just wanted to say that i am a 17 year old girl, and us teens have got it rough with all this resisting temptation. It is very hard to resist all sorts of temptations at our age. But just keep strong, and listen to the good advice of these people. This thread has helped me learn how to deal with my own battles in other moral areas.

Also, could people please not make a huge online argument/debate over these threads? We just want help, not your personal spiritual beliefs on whether the Blessed Mother is dead or alive or whatever that whole deal was.

Anyway, Jesus always forgives, no matter how many times we make that same stupid mistake, so don’t ever doubt that!!!

God Bless 🙂

St Joesph, mother Mary or anyother dead saint cannot help you confession to a priest cannot help these are not what it takes it takes a heart knowledge of Jesus and nothing else especially Hail Mary is not the answer she is dead and cannot help anyone
Wow,

I’ve never encountered a living Zaducee before.

This is a Christian board, and one of the tenets of Christianity is that God is the God of the Living, not of the dead.

The Christian God addressed your people when He walked the Earth and refered to the Torah when God addressed Moses, saying that He was the God of Abraham and of Issac.

God is the God of the Living. I would recommend that you investigate becoming a Christian, because it offers God’s promise of Everlasting Life. God has conquered Death and it cannot claim those who trust in Him and follow His Commands.

Hello??? Are you real? You really believe saints are dead? wow… Who was it that appeared with Jesus at the Transfiguration? A couple dead guys? Gross 😃 You believe when you die, that’s it? You’re mold in the ground? That’s all? Nawwwww

You’re pulling our respective legs, right?

** This is not a battle of the physical. This is a spiritual battle,** and you need to have spiritual weapons. I second the poster who suggested falling asleep with a rosary. I also suggest putting a holy card or some image of Our Lady by your bed. If you have access to blessed salt or holy water, use them! Bless yourself before bed and put the salt in the corners of your room. It may seem that this is just something that you’re struggling with because you’re “weak”, but this is, at it’s heart, a spiritual battle.
Cari, I do love the advice you offered in here, but I disagree on the bolded point above. I’m convinced there is some chemical dependancy involved in masterbation. Much like smokers get their fix. And druggys get their fix.
There is some sort of release that men (I don’t really know much on women) feel once they have accomplished this act. The desire to do it fades quickly.

AnonymousPrayer, men need to prepare for both the spiritual and physical side of this perversion. Many people have addressed the spiritual side better than I can hope to, and I would say make sure to really try what they suggest - it will help. But also prepare for the physical side as well. Know when you are most likely to get that pull and control that environment.

That may mean getting to bed. It may mean keeping doors open. It may mean puting your computer out in a common room or taking the internet card/cord out the computer. You know (or can soon recognize) when you are falling…cut those places and times out of your life.

With smoking there are those who stop cold turkey and those that take the steps. You talked about getting it back to once a week, that’s great just not good enough 😃 So, try scaling it back more.

You need to have the goal of quiting cold turkey, but if reality is you will likely fall again…don’t beat yourself up. Stregnthen your resolve by resisting longer and weaken the attachment to masturbation by staying away longer.

Also, find other fillers for whatever emotional needs it provides. If it helps you when you are depressed, nervous, sad, tired, etc… get other things you can do at those times so when you get depresses you don’t think…we I can masturbate or I can stay depressed.

I’ll pray for you as well. It’s a battle, decide to fight it to the end. 🙂

True enough. But to assume that a spiritual battle cannot effect the physical is dangerous, I think. The devil can use our physical makeup against us- check out his testing our Lord in the desert- he tempted Him with food, not just spiritual matters.

My post wasn’t meant to imply that there was no physical aspect to a masterbation addiction. It was meant to convey the fact that the enemy knows our weaknesses, and will use all of them (including those of the flesh) in the spiritual battle.

God bless,
Cari

St. Joseph, mother Mary, or any other dead saint cannot help you. Confession to a priest cannot help. These are not what it takes. It takes a heart knowledge of Jesus and nothing else- the Hail Mary is especially not the answer, as she is dead and cannot help anyone.
Good grief. If you’re going to spout off ignorance in your post, at least take the time to proofread it so the style isn’t as uneducated as the content.

Thanks AnonymousPrayer for having the courage to mention this and when you said:

"So I staying in the state of sin trying my hardest…after having once experienced it to stop…but i grew weak again and fell into sin thinking in my head, “Stop! dont do this!” but then there’s another voice telling trying to convince me, “it doesnt matter, why should God care if you are doing this…”, “why is it evil anyway…just because the church says so?”, “i see nothing wrong with it…” and so i fell into a longer period…still feeling remorse and crying numerous times and making what i thought to be a solid resolution.

Anyway it continued on and i finally got to confession…i confessed my sins before father right before mass…but i hadnt remembered to confess the sin of sacrilidge which it to recieve communion in the state of mortal sin…and although some preists consider it venial i have to go with what i was taught in catechism…anyway after a while i did it again and the same cycle happened i managed to put it to the minimum ive ever had…getting it down to almost once a week…but I still knew it was wrong and no matter what i try i fall into sin again…

I know its wrong, and i feel the guilt all the time…"

it really moved me because I’ve been battling this ever since I was 11 and still do 30 years later. My problem is that I do not feel worthy enough to receive Him if I fall especially since I only go to confession once a month. I’ve tried going to confession once a week but since I have some psychological issues that did more harm than good. My confessor tells me because of my condtition and all the stress in my life right now that it’s okay to receive as long as I’m contrite but I do not agree with him. Any thoughts, opinions, or advice from other men or women that deal or dealt w/similar issues would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do not be despondent. As long as you are truely repentent, Jesus will forgive you…I’ts not really your fault, since puberty is not something you have any control over. Just try not to do it. ask God to give you the strength, and He will. Remember that you are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and ask Him to fill you with his goodness. Maybe you could talk to a Priest.Do not be afraid to go to Confession- because the Priest just listens for God, and you can tell him anything you need to.However, if you are nervous about confessing, then in this case it would be sufficent to say that you broke the sixth Commandment. I recommend praying the Rosary. You could also ask the Intercession of St. Augustine, who spent his youth in sin, or St. Jude, who is the Patron Saint of desperate cases. . it might take a while, but if you ask God to strenghten you, then you can conquer sin.It will be a tough trial, but if you trust in Jesus, it will end in triumph.I will pray for you.If you need a guide on how to go to Confession, you can find one @
