That’s not because of Chrome, I think you clicked on a dubious link and gave yourself a virus.

Google Chrome installed and under the search strip was this big box. The first thing I wanted to do was look for the book mark facility but nothing worked but the search strip which went to Ask (which I dislike). I could do nothing but go into that box or end up with Ask. I will stick to Firefox, it loads up and then I can use my old Google.

Why did you call it a ‘Microsoft trap’ then. Ask .com and Microsoft are not related entitles. It’s commonly installed with Oracle Java.
